# Threat Monitoring & Response

Independent audits verify that Tessera's code is sound before it ships. Monitoring is what protects users once it is live. Alongside audits and Proof-of-Reserve, Tessera continuously watches its on-chain state in real time and can respond to threats automatically. This layer has been live since June 1, 2026.

### Real-Time Monitoring

Tessera's on-chain state is monitored continuously by **Hypernative**, an established on-chain security vendor, so threats are caught as they emerge rather than discovered after the fact. Monitoring spans pool reserves, token mint and authority integrity, circulating supply, and reserve backing.

### Automated Protective Response

When a threat is detected, Tessera can respond automatically, without waiting for human intervention. Protective action is **narrowly scoped to the specific threat** — contained to what is affected, never applied platform-wide.

Every automated action clears **independent co-approval before it is signed**. Signing keys are held in institutional MPC custody (Fireblocks), separate from the systems that detect and decide — so no single component, even if compromised, can move funds or act outside its defined scope.

### Human-Controlled by Design

* Recovery is **deliberately manual**: a person investigates and decides before normal operations resume. Tessera never auto-resumes.
* Decisions are **layered** — multiple independent checks must agree before anything is signed.

These controls protect users from active exploits, and keep Tessera positioned to meet its obligations as the regulatory framework for on-chain real-world assets continues to develop.

### Scale Under Protection

This protection covers all three live markets — T-SpaceX (live February 12, 2026), T-Kalshi (live May 13, 2026), and T-OpenAI (live June 25, 2026, covered from launch).

As of August 13, 2026, cumulative trading volume across the three markets was roughly **$424.7M**, with **8,010** active traders. Current figures are on the [transparency dashboard](https://app.tessera.pe/dashboard?tab=transparency).
